During a trip to Houston in April 2014, I purchased a box of 20 from a local shop called “Mike’s Cigar Room” in the Woodlands. We smoked a couple in the Marriott hotel and the rest were brought back to Dubai and enjoyed in its luxurious lounges.
La Flor De Las Antillas is a part of the Pepin Garcia cigar selection. “The Flower of Antilles” is a Cuban symbol that was attributed to this My Father cigar in honor of the Garcia Family’s heritage and rich cigar history.
This hand rolled Nicaraguan puro is distinguished by its medium-full body, intense chocolate, earthy, woody and peppery aromas. The Cigar Aficinado listed this La Flor De Las Antillas Toro as the cigar in 2012.
The cigar is available in as a Toro (6x52), Toro Grande (6½x56), Belicoso (5½x52) and Robusto (5x50).
Personal Review - Jimmy El Gemayel
After catching the eye’s critics and earning many 90+ ratings, this cigar became a must try in 2012. It took me a little longer to get a hold of it but I don’t regret buying a box of 20.
The cigar is very well constructed with a great draw. Its wrapper was a little oily and had intense flavors of chocolate and pepper. From foot to head, this cigar remains consistent and keeps its great cocoa, pepper and earthy aromas. This cigar will get your attention at the first puff. It is a unique smoke that can be enjoyed with a good latte or a flavorful Port/Sherry. One thing is for certain, La Flor De La Antillas is a great buy; it is a cigar the gives you plenty of bang for the buck.
